Biography
Born and raised in Seoul, Didi Han’s artistic journey began when she majored in painting in high school and continued a degree in art and textile design at university, working as a designer while continuing to develop her creative voice. A lifelong music enthusiast, Didi naturally gravitated towards curating soundscapes for events, with an early passion for electronic music. Inspired by Nicolas Jaar’s BBC radio mix, she learned to DJ and soon began performing with her collective, organizing events across Korea. Since then, she has toured across Europe and Asia. Expanding her artistic vision, she launched her own event series, "Dance Therapy", further solidifying her presence in the global music scene. Her evolution as a music creator led to the release of her debut project, "Forest" (2019), a mesmerizing blend of lo-fi textures and brass-infused sounds. In 2021, she unveiled "Wake Up" on the French label Roche Musique, a house-infused EP shaped during the lockdown. This project featured collaborations with Korean 90s diva Wansun Kim and French rapper Nelick, bridging diverse musical influences. Following her relocation from Seoul to Paris, Didi released In the "Zone" (2023) on Shall Not Fade records. This project captured the essence of the Korean concept "무아지경"—a deep meditative state of total immersion. Just as a dancer enters a trance-like flow, this EP transports listeners into a world where rhythm takes over and time dissolves with every beat. In 2025, Didi Han is set to unveil her latest EP, "I Dream", on Roche Musique, which showcases her experimentation with atmospheric elements, her own singing voice and a reconnection with the rave scene. The five-track Indie Dance project is complemented by a visually stunning music video directed by Ludovic Gontrand and produced by Hamlet. "I Dream" delves into themes of dreams, nostalgia, and childhood, blending energetic beats with a seamless fusion of classic and modern influences.
